My name is Henry Parker, I am 54 years old, I was born in Oakridge, Oregon. My wife and I moved to southern California in 1996, where I enjoy fishing, camping, and playing video games, but the most enjoyable hobby I have is oil painting.
I’ve always been interested in oil painting but didn’t believe I could do it. One day as I was thumbing through the tv channels, I ran across a painting show on the tv. The painters name was Bob Ross I watched as a picture formed on a blank canvas, I said to myself I really wish I could do that, I recorded the shows and went to the art store and bought some paint brushes, and some canvases to try it out.
I watched how he did the sky & clouds, and trees etc. I taught myself how to paint with oils and get joy from seeing a painting start from nothing and end up a beautiful picture. I have been painting for about four years now. I have started this site in hopes of sharing the joy with others, and hope it will also inspire others who are interested in painting. If you put your mind to it you can accomplish what you desire to do. I hope you enjoy the paintings.
